Took my parents here for lunch on Sunday and we were all raving about the food. I was interested in coming here because of all the pictures I saw of their ceviche. I'm a ceviche fiend and lately I've been stuck with ceviche that has too much lime juice or is too fishy. I opted to get the tilapia and the shrimp ceviche to share with my hubs and my mom (my dad doesn't mess with raw fish) and it was to die for. It wasn't sour or salty, it was perfect. I didn't even need to eat it with chips. It also came with several large, perfectly ripe avocado slices, which I inhaled.

Hubs got two chicken tamales, which were perfectly cooked, and my parents had the mixed fajitas, which included chicken, steak, and huge shrimp. It also came with sides of sour cream, guac, and rice & beans.

All in all, we loved eating at Mexcal and they are sure to be a staple for whenever we are craving some delicious Mexican food. I can't wait to try their other offerings, everything sounded amazing as we were reading through the menu!

    Nice presentation but underwhelming flavors.
After all the amazing reviews here on Yelp, we decided to give this place a try. It was good, but unfortunately, didn't live up to the hype. Good, definitely better than the taqueria that was there before, but not amazing.

Another Taco Tuesday and another search for the best vegan tacos.

Met a girlfriend here for dinner after work and was quite surprised at how cute the interior was! We quickly picked out our seats in an almost entirely empty restaurant and were greeted promptly by our waitress who had great margarita recommendations. My friend decided to order one steak taco, and one shrimp taco À la cart and some super fruity strawberry margarita, and I ordered the veggie tacos and the roasted pineapple margarita ($12). I was a little bummed as I had originally wanted fajitas, but their refried beans aren't vegan (no surprise) and they don't offer any other options for beans (boo). But my tacos were delicious (8.40 for three as I wound up ordering a third), and additional toppings for the tacos (guacamole, pico de gallo, etc.) are only an additional 15 cents each.
We both loved when our waitress came out giggling while pointing out that there were floating fingers in our margaritas for Halloween - very cute touch.

My total bill was about $27 with tax and tip, which I found reasonable for the size of the margaritas, and our waitress had even topped off our drinks at one point halfway through the meal.

Great little spot if you're ever in the area for Taco Tuesday, or any other day of the week.

As I spend my days during the week out in the suburbs, working as a consultant, I am trying to find places to eat that are not Portillos, McDonalds, and Subway. Was craving Mexican and found this place near work. It's in a plaza. I'm still getting used to this whole plaza thing in the suburbs. Bare with me.

Anyways Mexcal is in the corner of a plaza, there's huge signs called "Alamo." I kept looking at Google Maps and it was 100% telling me I was at Mexcal but all I saw was Alamo until on the window you see there's a poster that says Mexcal. You guys should get that updated by the way.

As soon as you walk in, you see some video booths that you see in casino. So yes you can gamble. Was very tempted but it was lunch time. LOL. The host/waitresses seemed a bit disoriented, unorganized. Fine. No problem as we were waiting for someone to seat us or if we were supposed to order. But you can be seated.

Started off as complimentary chips with home made salsa. Really good chips and salsa! Very surprised! And they do give you refills on it! Also was looking through the menu they gave, they didn't give us lunch menus so make sure you ask. They definitely have one. I got an order of the "TACOS CHIHUHUA STYLE." It's a thin cut ribeye, I initially thought it would be chopped pieces of meat but it really was a long piece of rib eye on the taco melted with cheese, pico de gallo. My goodness, it was GREAT. Extremely tasty, and flavorful. I don't know what authentic mexican food is but I think this came damn close. The food took a while to come out but that made me realize they cooked it to fresh from scratch. Wow I can't wait to come back and check out the other food options on this menu.

IF you want good Mexican food in the suburbs and you are nearby, DEFINITELY recommend this place!!!

Great food, nice atmosphere and great service. I came in for lunch. I was seated quickly and some tortilla chips with salsa were given to me. The salsa is very unique and is good, has a smokey flavor. I appreciate the chips while I wait. Ordered the mexcal taco dinner on flour tortilla. The waitress was really nice. The tacos were great and their hot sauces are also unique, they too have a Smokey flavor. The rice and beans were really good too, the beans come in a little tortilla bowl which make for a nice presentation and give the beans a nice crunch.

I will definitely be back and this will become a regular lunch place for me.
